Matchaas Story
Matchaas was born from a desire to offer real, high-quality matcha – the kind most people have never truly tasted. Frustrated with bitter, low-quality options loaded with additives, we went back to the roots of matcha culture: Uji, Kyoto, Japan. Known as the birthplace of ceremonial-grade matcha, this is where our journey began. In collaboration with a family-run company deeply rooted in generations of tea farming expertise, we found the perfect matcha to share with the world.
The matcha tradition
Matcha has been part of Japanese culture for over 800 years, originally used in Zen rituals for its calming effects. Today, it’s become globally loved for its antioxidants, clean energy, and rich, earthy flavor.
At Matchaas, we honor the roots - while making it part of modern life.
FAQ
Why choose Matchaas?
We source organic, ceremonial-grade matcha from Uji, Japan – known for its smooth taste, vibrant color, and high antioxidant content. Matchaas is made in small batches, packed fresh, and designed to support your daily ritual with clean, simple ingredients.
Why the higher price?
One tin represents hours of hand-picking - and about an hour in the slow granite mill that yields just 30 g of finished matcha powder. Fair wages for the farmers, organic certification, and temperature-controlled shipping to Norway add to the cost, but they guarantee the freshness and superior taste you experience.
What is matcha?
Matcha is a finely ground powder made from shade-grown green tea leaves. Unlike regular green tea, you drink the whole leaf – giving you more antioxidants, nutrients, and lasting energy.
What are the health benefits of matcha?
Matcha is packed with antioxidants, supports brain function, boosts energy without the crash, and may promote heart health and weight management.
How should I store my matcha?
Keep your matcha in a cool, dry place away from sunlight, sealed tightly. Once opened, we recommend using it within 1–2 months for the best flavor and benefits.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes – we currently ship from Norway to most European countries. Shipping to other regions will be added soon.
What is your return policy?
We accept returns on unopened products within 14 days of delivery. If your order is damaged or incorrect, contact us and we’ll fix it.
